Our 100th Anniversary in Indonesia


Hosted in a unique venue in Bali, The Apurva Kempinski Bali, in the workshop of the artist Cyril Kongo, we've celebrated the 100 years of Valrhona with a superb view and an arty twist, brought by the collaboration between the artist and our Pastry chefs. Timeless venue, on the last floor of an opulent 5-stars hotel; outstanding creations from the very youthful Pastry Team of the hotel; different actors of the industry (plantation/ONG Bali/Pastry School, etc.) attended the event. We are welcomed by the GM Vincent Guironnet, a relative of Albéric himself!


In the heart of Jakarta, in the beautiful jazz bar of the Park Hyatt overviewing the city, we hosted fifty clients and chefs, to celebrate the 100 years of Valrhona together. Tastings of the official recipes developed by l'Ecole Valrhona Asia, which were very well received, and perfectly executed by Chef Ali Saleh and his team.

Komuntu 80% - the 100 Year Anniversary chocolate

Born from an original creation process, Komuntu 80% embodies the strength of collective work. It is the result of the involvement of the entire Valrhona value chain: cocoa partners, suppliers, employees and customers, all of whom have contributed to creating Komuntu 80%, the embodiment of 100 years of commitment.

KOMUNTU is a contraction of “Komunumo”, which means “community” in Esperanto, and “Ubuntu”, an African concept that means “I am because we are”. Such is the link which unites these 100 people.
